It’s definitely a sleepy and slow week as we edge toward Friday and the last weekend before the unofficial end of summer vacation season. Next Tuesday will, no doubt, be crunch time as we race to the end of the year, get ready for the last quarter of 2025, and hope to nab as much revenue as possible before year end.

If you’re still in the final throws of 2026 budgeting and marketing planning, we hope you decide to innovate a bit and incorporate a few new trend-inspired shifts to your operations and marketing plans to ensure you have something to talk about and promote to your savvy customer base as well as even savvier and discerning media.

Here’s what’s #Trending this week:

  • The Pursuit Of Optimal Sleep — hotels are really upping the ante with special sleep programs and more.

  • Tableside Carts Are Back - this throwback to the golden age of dining is back and gaining lots of favor from diners who want a curated experience that shows well on social media.

  • Tennis Tourism Is On The Rise - as part of the larger sports tourism crush.

  • The French Dip Is Once Again On The Menu - much to diners’ delights and chefs are having a great time putting their own spin on the classic.

  • Live Tourism Is A Cash Cow For Hotels - the industry is still talking about the Taylor Swift Effect and those properties which don’t cash in on the frenzy of live events in their city are leaving dollars, euros, and the like on the table.

  • Social Commerce Is How Consumers Will Be Booking Your Hotel - are you ready for it or still relying on OTAs, your website, and (gasp!) your 800 number?

💟 We are loving the design and content from Late Checkout and if you aren’t familiar with them, we think it is definitely worth a look.

➡️ PLUS a noted travel journalist reveals the two most important questions you need to ask yourself before undertaking a pitch or issuing a press release.
