This issue highlights hotels that hit the mark with thought-provoking design and sustainability initiatives to get guests involved. We’re talking about Marriott and TED’s new curiosity room and the Coral Gardening program at Four Seasons Costa Rica which encourages travelers to take sustainability into their own hands. Hotel Rooms Go Interactive
Increasingly, guests are seeking a hotel that goes beyond an overnight stay and delivers an experience as immersive as their travel. This national trend is quickly transcending continental bounds. Delta Airlines will soon feature Explorer Cold Brew Company’s ethically sourced Ethiopian coffee on it’s beverage menu. A Hotel Room Which Makes A Statement

This open-air “zero real estate suite” in Switzerland makes a statement not for what it has, but what it lacks — a door, ceiling, or walls. Nestled in between a gas station and a bustling intersection, absent of shelter from the elements, guests are denied the luxury of privacy and a restful night’s sleep — all for 325 Swiss Francs (roughly $340). This suite was intentionally placed in an anti-idyllic setting to prompt guests to ponder the current social, economic, and environmental issues at hand. Read more in Architectural Digest here.
