Big Weddings Are Back With A Vengeance
After having to make do with intimate backyard weddings or Zoom celebrations, weddings are back. In a big way. Hotels and resorts are reporting HUGE blocks of rooms being booked for longer periods of time as couples plan multi-day affairs to make up for lost time with friends and family. And prices ain't cheap — destination wedding guests and out of towners are being asked to pay incredibly high rates as the competition for rooms heats up. Read more in The Wall Street Journal here.
Hotel Scents Sell
Hotels are paying a lot more attention to scent these days. Not only do they want to calm, invigorate, or give you a sense of place the moment you walk into the lobby or your guest room or suite, but they want guests to be able to take that scent home with them and be reminded of their wonderful stay. A New Breed Of Hotel Guest: Super Commuters
There's a new breed of hotel guest: the "Super Commuter." These are the individuals who moved out of the city during the pandemic, but now need to return to the office every now and again for a hybrid work model. To ease the sting of a much longer commute, they are staying over at city hotels for a night or two when they need to be in the office. And hotels are beyond thrilled. Cheers To These Beverage Trends For 2022
What is that they say...it's always 5 o'clock somewhere? There's always a good excuse for a drink (alcoholic or not) and the beverage trends for this year are quite satisfying. Tequila is still hot, cocktail classes and kits are continuing their popularity, classics will get an upgrade (I think this has been happening for a while now), low and no alcohol drinks get better and better, more fruits and vegetables will make it into your glass, and drier and bitter are the way to go.
